Hey everyone! So in my media class, we're preparing for STN. This past weekend, we did a crazy 8's practice and I'm on the news magazine. This was a very interesting practice because we had some problems, but at the same time we made good progress. Some things my team could work on is deadlines, working together calm and patiently. Also, finding stories that really bring the best out of the topic that's given.
First of all, my team needs to work on deadlines. To explain, Taylor and I had a really hard time editing all the stories together because the people in charge of doing the stories finished way after their deadline. And even after that, the videos still weren't finished. So the final product was pretty messy and wasn't as nice as it could've been. The topic wasn't that spot on either, it went in a whole bunch of different directions.
Secondly, I think my team should work on working together calm and patiently. For example, if someone is trying to work, people shouldn't yell at the person and cause drama. They should help him/her get it done. At this practice, people were yelling at people and saying rude things pretty much every single time someone messed up. There were times people were nice to each other and helped out, but other times it was bad. As a team, we need to have trust, faith, and we should be able to help someone before they ask.
Last but not least, we need to find stories that bring out the best of the topic. For instance, we need to have stories that bring a huge impact to it's community and the people around it. Also, say the topic was harmony in nature, we have to find a story that represents this topic, and not something representing technology or food. It's pretty much common sense, but some people don't really understand it.
To conclude, I have been to a lot of practices and even though this practice had some ups and down, I have hope that we will do good in S.T.N. I'm excited to see how it all turns out and the outcome of all our hard work. Thanks for reading, BYE!!!
