Hey everyone! So in my media class, we're preparing for STN. This past weekend, we did a crazy 8's practice and I'm on the news magazine. This was a very interesting practice because we had some problems, but at the same time we made good progress. Some things my team could work on is deadlines, working together calm and patiently. Also, finding stories that really bring the best out of the topic that's given.
First of all, my team needs to work on deadlines. To explain, Taylor and I had a really hard time editing all the stories together because the people in charge of doing the stories finished way after their deadline. And even after that, the videos still weren't finished. So the final product was pretty messy and wasn't as nice as it could've been. The topic wasn't that spot on either, it went in a whole bunch of different directions.
Secondly, I think my team should work on working together calm and patiently. For example, if someone is trying to work, people shouldn't yell at the person and cause drama. They should help him/her get it done. At this practice, people were yelling at people and saying rude things pretty much every single time someone messed up. There were times people were nice to each other and helped out, but other times it was bad. As a team, we need to have trust, faith, and we should be able to help someone before they ask.
Last but not least, we need to find stories that bring out the best of the topic. For instance, we need to have stories that bring a huge impact to it's community and the people around it. Also, say the topic was harmony in nature, we have to find a story that represents this topic, and not something representing technology or food. It's pretty much common sense, but some people don't really understand it.
To conclude, I have been to a lot of practices and even though this practice had some ups and down, I have hope that we will do good in S.T.N. I'm excited to see how it all turns out and the outcome of all our hard work. Thanks for reading, BYE!!!
Hey guys! Today, I am going to talk about our fourth quarter project, which instead of doing a regular fourth quarter project, we will be doing an all class project introducing Kauai Grown. We will have a bunch of different categorized teams we can be on, and we will have a designed team leader. For me, I would like to be on the Instagram team. Three reasons why I think I should be on the team is because I have lots of experience with media, I go on Instagram on a daily basis(so a lot,) and I feel like I could really show what this business is about.
To start off with, I have lots of experience with media. For example, in my class we do news stories. We find something big or even something small impacting the island. I have done four new stories so far and I feel confident and proud of all of them.I feel like I can really introduce Kauai Grown to our Island and show the impact of having a business like that. Also, every other day in my media class we use technology the whole entire time which gives us a lot of practice when we want to showcase a project or an event to our community.
Secondly, I would like to be on the Instagram team because I go on Instagram on a daily basis. It's a lot when you go on it on a daily basis because you're basically glued to social media. To me I feel like this will really help the Instagram team if they're always caught up on their followers and what to post to keep the company running. Something really important is how they're representing the company. I'm used to all the different features and how this app works so I feel like I can really make a great contribution to this team.
Last but not least, I can really show what this business is about. To explain, I could give details about their different showings and get the followers interested in why this business is on our Island. Kauai Grown is all about plants and the amazing crops we grow on our Island, and I feel like this company should really be known to a lot of people. So that they see our Island as a beautiful and tropical place. I also really want to not only put pictures up explaining what you can see, but also the workers and Farmers there that help bring the whole business together.
To conclude, Kauai Grown is an amazing business and my media class and I are so excited to be working on this project. I hope I am able to be on this team, and to represent this business through social media. CKTV Media will bring this business to a whole new level and we're all excited to see the outcome. Well this is all for this week, I'm going to be doing a blog next week, BYE!!!
